Ever since I was a kid, my parents had to bribe me to come inside for dinner. Being outside has always been a constant place for me. Even during a Mississippi summer, you can still find me sitting on my back patio with a string a' lights giving me just enough to read or play catch with my dogs.

Patio 45, which just opened in Columbus at 3255 Hwy 45., is a new restaurant in town that has that vibe.

Eurie Bordenclave, along with her brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Trynequa Blair, opened Patio 45 at the end of June hoping to give customers that outdoor escape people are always looking for.

"You can soak up the sun," Bordenclave said. "I want people to feel like they are right at home or even on vacation when you're in your own hometown."

Patio 45 is open Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for lunch, 4:30-10 p.m. for dinner, Friday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 p.m. -- 1 a.m., Saturday 11 a.m. -- 1 a.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Bordenclave said renovations and changes are continuing for Patio 45, including attaching a plexi-glass roof for the seating area when it rains and a secluded outdoor area groups can reserve for graduations, family get-togethers and more.

Patio 45 offers a rotating menu with various seafood dishes, steak, hamburgers and more so be sure to stay up to date on Patio 45's Facebook page.
