Lowndes County Sheriff's Office investigators are seeking suspects in three separate shooting incidents that occurred in about a two-hour span early Friday morning.
Deputies responded to a reported drive-by shooting at 71 Downs Road southwest of Columbus Air Force Base, in which three victims -- two males, ages 14 and 15, and a 24-year-old female -- suffered gunshot wounds. Two victims suffered non life-threatening injuries, while the third, one of the teens, was airlifted to a Jackson hospital to undergo surgery, Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said.
Just more than an hour before, about 1:12 a.m., deputies responded to a call that someone had been shot outside Club Nu-Image, 333 Penn Station Road in Crawford. Upon arrival, the victim had left the scene with unknown injuries, but deputies found a vehicle that had been shot multiple times, according to a LCSO press release. They attempted to get witness statements, but everyone they talked to told deputies they were inside the club and did not see the incident.
At about 12:35 a.m., a resident of Dove Street south of Columbus reported waking up to shots being fired outside the residence. No one was injured, but deputies found where the house had been shot several times, according to the press release.
Hawkins told The Dispatch investigators have no evidence to suggest any of the three shootings were related.
No arrests have been made in the incidents and LCSO continues to investigate. Authorities ask anyone with information on the shootings to contact Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151 or use the P-3 app to leave anonymous tips.
