It was a white Christmas morning in Columbus and other parts of north and northeast Mississippi.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Chad Entremont said Columbus, along with Tupelo and Grenada, had an inch of snow or less while Oxford had nearly 2 inches.
Parts of north and northeast Mississippi may receive additional flurries today, although no accumulation is expected, according to the NWS at Jackson.
The temperature is expected to remain chilly, with overnight lows in the lower 20s.
“Temperatures will struggle to get much above freezing on Sunday,” reads the NWS hazardous weather outlook briefing.
Micah Yeck of Washington, D.C., was visiting her family in Oxford. She said a couple people were out sledding, and she liked having her baby son Malloy”s first Christmas be a white one.
