Starkville police are searching for a man who robbed a McDonald”s Wednesday morning on Highway 12.
Just before 4 a.m., officers from the Starkville Police Department responded to a call of an armed robbery at the McDonald”s restaurant at 817 Highway 12 W. The officers arrived within 60 seconds of the call, but discovered the suspect had taken an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot in a northerly direction. He still had not been apprehended as of press time this morning.
Investigators determined the suspect, described as a tall, light-skinned black male, entered the restaurant on the east side of the building and demanded money from the manager. The man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a bandana over his face to conceal his identity and was armed with a handgun, according to police. No employees were injured in the incident, though they were “visibly shaken,” police said.
The Starkville Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in the apprehension of the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Starkville police at 662-323-0393 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151. Tips to Crime Stoppers could result in a reward of up to $1,000 for the caller if the tip leads to the arrest of a suspect.
