SHUQUALAK — Lissie Brown-Stowers, 90, died Sept. 18, 2017, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Noxubee County High School with Earnest James Sanders officiating. Burial followed in Zion Hill Cemetery. visitation was Friday, Sept. 22, from 1-5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Brown-Stowers was born Nov. 25, 1926, to the late Wiley Brown Sr. and Mary Bankhead-Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ulises Lovelace; brothers, John Brown and James Brown; and sisters, Nancy Lee Brown, Louise Lovelace, Nettie Bee Brown, Amanda Sanders and Hattie Neal. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Brown Anderson, Hattie Stowers Brooks, Betty Joyce Brown, Jean Smith and June Brown, all of Macon, Ozzie Brown Liddell of Columbus and Mary Lee Lovelace of Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, J.B. Brown, Moses Brown, Willie Brown and Harold Brown, all of Macon, Nathaniel Lovelace and Thomas Jefferson Lovelace, both of Cincinnati; 25 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
