COLUMBUS — Mildred Ruth Spraggins Hinton, 87, died Feb. 12, 2020. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Macedonia C.M.E. Church of Ethelsville, Alabama. Burial will follow at Strawbridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. today at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hinton was born May 27, 1932, in Ethelsville, Alabama, to the late Cordeilia Kennedy-Spraggins and Frank Spraggins. She was a member of Macedonia C.M.E. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Spraggins-Leigh, Magella Spraggins-Hudgins, Vernon Spraggins-Jones, Dorothy Spraggins-Miller and Hildred Spraggins; brothers, Willie Anderson Spraggins, Braze Spraggins, Willie Steve Spraggins; two grandsons, Kerry Ralston Richardson and Ronald Ray Richardson. She is survived by her husband, Bennie “Tupe” Hinton; children, Wilda Dean Robinson, Shirley Jean Spraggins, Trudy Hinton, Debra Harris, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ruthie Hinton of Marietta, Georgia, Evelyn Hinton of Dallas, Georgia, Brenda Hurst, Ethelsville, Alabama, Linda McCrary, Douglasville, Georgia, Billy Eugene Spraggins, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bennie Hinton, Powder Springs, Georgia, Bobby Hinton, Dallas, Texas, Reggie Hinton, Fairburn, Georgia and Tony Hinton, Ethelsville, Alabama; sister, Alice Spraggins Hall of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and 39 grandchildren.
