COLUMBUS — Barbara Jean Coley Johnson-Neal, 79, passed away. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Neal was born Oct. 5, 1940, to the late Willie Bob and Williease Coley. She attended Concord and Hunt High School and was formerly employed at Freeheart Bakery, Johnston Tombigbee and Belk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Leroy Johnson Jr. and Melvin Johnson; siblings, Jimmie Will Psalms, Troy Lee Coley, Ruby Jean Brownlee and Elisha Coley. She is survived by her husband, Sam Neal Jr.; children, Debbie Jean King of Belleville, Illinois, Julius Johnson of McDonough, Georgia, Tommicine Johnson, Betty Ann Johnson, Vera Marie Lee, Nancy Johnson-Sims, Tony Johnson, Marianne Hubbard and Kimberly Renee Roby all of Columbus; siblings, Eddie Will Coley, Johnny Will Coley, James Dean Coley of Flint, Michigan, Rickey Lee Coley, Willie James Coley of Huntsville, Alabama, Samella Coley, Elijah Coley, Freddie Lee Coley, Robert Earl Coley, Arlena Coley and Denise Coley Hawkins all of Columbus; 20 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
