George Perkins

ABERDEEN — George Rubin Perkins, 91, died Sept. 26, 2020, at Sanctuary Hospice, in Tupelo. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at New Prospect Cemetery, in Lackey, with the Rev. Roy Lee Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from noon-12:30 p.m. prior to services, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Perkins was born March 20, 1929, in Aberdeen, to the late Arlie Lorinza Perkins Sr. and Mary Ollie Bagwell Perkins. He was formerly employed with Jacob Lee Construction Company and was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Pounders and Marie Tate. He is survived by his wife, Iva Lee Sandlin Perkins of Aberdeen; sons, George Wayne Perkins of Louisville and David Lee Perkins of Alabama; sister, Mildred Pumphries of West Point; brother, Arlie Perkins of Aberdeen; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be W. C. Harris, Chad Perkins, Benjamin Hogue, Wayne Perkins, David Perkins, and Alton Sandlin.
