Today I saw on TV a story about two sisters, 8 and 7, who wanted to help the victims of the recent tornadoes that hit the Golden Triangle area. God bless these little angels! At such a tender age they are trying to do something to help those less fortunate and those who are in need, hurting.
They put up containers plainly labeled as a can drive with all proceeds to go to tornado victims. So what happened? Some moron threw styrofoam drink cups and other trash in there. While I applaud them for not throwing their trash on the ground, in the street or other people”s yards, I think it was highly disrespectful of them to put trash into containers specifically set aside for aluminum cans to help tornado victims.
I”m asking everyone to think before you toss your trash. These two young ladies deserve more public recognition than a 30-second spot on the noon news, although I also applaud WCBI for airing their story. They have already earned stars for their Heavenly crowns. What have those who trashed their efforts earned?
