In support of HB 1523
I have been reading with interest all of the favorable articles and opinions regarding HB 1523 from The Dispatch (Oh, I meant all the unfavorable articles and opinions). I am amazed that The Dispatch could not find it their heart to print one article stating the truth that is in HB 1523. Why did you not print the article that was written by Forest Thigpen, a man of integrity and truth, stating clearly the intent of the bill or Daniel Gardner (New law protects sincere beliefs), who likewise is very clear on what the bill states.
Are not the values and religious beliefs of those who are being forced to participate in something that violates their conscience being discriminated against? I recall very clearly that when Peter was told not to preach or teach Jesus Christ by the Sanhedrin that he stated “We ought to obey God rather than man” (Acts 5:29). He probably wasn’t politically correct.
It may be politically incorrect to print the truth of the bill and not of the message that you may want to convey, but at least realize that you are in the South and most of the people here are of conservative values with strong religious beliefs.
Why not at least show both sides of the bill.
You have not only filled the editorial section with your side of the bill but you have violated journalistic standards and printed articles that were only opinions as if it were news.
I assure you that most Christian people are not hateful and discriminatory people. Please give some thought to at least showing the truth in this bill.
