If we will only cry out to Him …
When I was young I lived in Lawton, Oklahoma. The water supply to our town was about 30 miles away in a little town near the Wichita Mountains, Lake Lawtonka.
I remember the time when we had a very bad drought. It became so severe that the pastors in our town called out for a “prayer.” It was an unforgettable experience when God answered that prayer.
I just happened to be at Lake Lawtonka with a friend we were sitting in her car enjoying the view, when the darkest, greenest cloud that I ever seen suddenly came from nowhere and made a huge circle around the lake. There was lightning and rain, to the extreme, from the cloud, and it kept circling and circling. I knew that I was experiencing an answered prayer. It was thrilling!
The strange thing about it was that it hardly rained anywhere else, just on our lake, which was amply replenished.
We are in a drought today, not only in our local weather, but in the nation. We are thirsty for good honest men and women to rear our country for the good of its children (us). We need people who care whether we are being led, have good jobs and are protected from outsiders. Isn’t that what we do for our children? What kind of parent lies to their kids, steals from and puts them in danger?
I don’t know about everyone else, but I feel like a child who doesn’t know his real mother. Trying to see through the facade, the lies, the hypocrisy, the manipulation, the distortion and the craziness of politicians in our country has left me with nightmares.
But, God can fix it. Just like he solved our water supply problem when I was a child. When we cried out to Him for help, he did help. He made it rain only on the lake. He can fix our nation, our state, or our city only, if we will cry out to Him.
