Regarding “Slim” Smith’s column of Jan. 31, “Iranian students show what it means to be an American,” Mr. Smith states that no one from the countries listed in President Trump’s temporary ban on entry to the USA has killed anyone in 40 years.
I’d first have to fact check this before believing it. Even if correct, would he rather have someone killed before we take proactive action?
As I recall, two MSU students, at least one of which was from one of the countries listed or had travelled to one of those countries, was recently arrested at GTR since they intended to go to the Middle East, join ISIS and kill.
The few local students and some of the faculty of our several universities who oppose the ban are worshiping at the false altar of political correctness and would place themselves, you, and I at risk of murder by radical Islamists. Crazy!
