Thankful
On June 26, my husband and I were traveling through Columbus and stopped at the Love’s truck stop to replace a headlight. While there my husband fell from his truck striking his head on the pavement. The young men in the shop were quick to assist.
The first responders were there and transported him to Baptist Memorial Hospital. Soon after arriving, he was airlifted to Tupelo. I was faced with no way to get to Tupelo.
While I was worrying about what I was going to do, the nurses pooled their money and made the call to hire a Uber driver to take me to be with my husband.
Those nurses did that for a stranger. Not only did they not know me, most had not seen me. Due to a blood thinner problems, my husband did not survive. Because of these nurses, I was able to get to Tupelo to be by his side.
I’ll never forget the fine people of Columbus, Mississippi, and caring nurses at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
