Response to Mr. Lollar regarding Trump
I suppose people like Lee Roy Lollar are pleased with a President who continually makes up statistics and stories to pump up his ego. I suppose Mr. Lollar enjoys it when Trump acts like a schoolyard bully. I for one would expect our President to ACT presidential and set an example for the next generation, but this is not what is happening. He has emboldened the white supremacists, xenophobes and misogynists. He has also shown himself to be no friend of the LGBTQ community. As far as tariffs go, we will be paying the price for these — not the countries making the products. The problem is the vast majority of items imported are no longer made in this country and if they were they would be 10x more expensive. Will the American people pay these prices? I think not, so they will still be imported, and we will pay more for them. What has this accomplished? Nothing. Also, as far as our military and policy, we are cozying up to evil heads of state who want nothing better than to see our country divided and weaker. Trump has shown pure ignorance on the world stage. Also, I recall the comments of a truly great president, Theodore Roosevelt, who said, “Speak softly and carry a big stick.”
