Responding to claims in Gross letter
Gross states President Trump signed an executive order for Veterans to receive care outside of the Veterans Affairs Medical System in Jan. 2018.
He further states that no other president has done this, sir.
AP fact check: Trump takes credit for Obama’s gains for vets.
Trump says he passed a private sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.”
That’s not true.
The Choice program, which allows Veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system, at tax payer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama.
The truth matters but not to Trump.
In the same letter, Gross states President Trump donated his first quarter salary to the Department of Veteran affairs in May of 2018.
No other president would do that, sir.
Trump even took it one step farther.
In Jan. 2018, the Trump Foundation did a fundraising in Iowa just for Veterans.
Last week, a state Judge ordered President Trump to pay $2 million in damages to non profit groups on Thursday after the president admitted misusing money raised by the Trump Foundation to promote his presidential bid, pay off business debts and purchase a portrait of HIMSELF for one of his hotels.
No other president would do that either.
It’s ironic that during Trump’s presidential campaign, he railed against the Clinton Foundation for being so corrupt, and now, because of this, the Trump Foundation has closed.
The truth matters but not to Trump.
Laying hands on Trump doesn’t seem to be helping him.
He’s lying more than ever.
