The Lord is our keeper, and He can keep us in whatever ways we need Him to keep us. He’s a watchful keeper; He keeps us on a twenty-four hour guard duty protecting us from danger. Not only does He not sleep, but He does not so much as slumber. “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:4) KJV
· He keeps us safe from the evil one. The Lord is faithful in what He says He will do for us. We can always depend on Him to make us strong so we can overcome the attacks of the evil one. He will also keep us safe from satan by not allowing him to defeat or do any harm to us. “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3) NIV
· He keeps us from talking when we need to be quiet. It’s hard to keep quiet when people say things that will upset us especially when we haven’t said anything to them. However, we can do it with the help of God. All we have to do is say this prayer, “Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” (Psalm 141:3) KJV
· He keeps us in perfect peace. When we put our trust in the Lord and keep our minds focused on Him, He will keep us in perfect peace. Even in the midst of what we are going through or the turmoil and confusion that is going on around us, He will give us peace. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3) KJV
· He keeps us from falling. All glory goes to God! He is able to keep us from falling into temptations, sins, troubles and mistakes, and brings us into His glorious presence without a single fault with great joy. “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” (Jude 1:24) KJV
· He keeps us safe in all our ways. God has command His angels to guard us and keep us safe in ways we cannot perceive or comprehend. “For he shall give his angles charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” (Psalm 91:11) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: the Lord is our keeper and He will keep us safe at all times. “The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.” (Psalm 121:5) KJV
