Believes free speech comes with responsibility
In response to letter-writer Annette Holland, who states that a doctor in Starkville was brought to light about his tweets pertaining to the Capitol riots: Never mind the doctor; it was Trump who committed the most dangerous crime ever by a President, when he tweeted and spoke directly to his supporters to fight like hell over a lie that the election was stolen from him, which may lead to criminal charges being filed against him.
The way I see it, free speech is free speech as long as it is the truth. We shouldn’t have any problems with telling the truth.
But promoting conspiracies and disinformation and lying is exactly what social media is shutting down and rightfully so. Trump was complaining that the media was not being fair to the conservatives, because they deleted more of their accounts, including his. That’s because they were guilty of more of the above.
With the Washington Post saying Trump has lied over 29,000 times during his presidency, it should be hard for him to complain.
Twitter said within two days after the riots, they closed 70,000 QAnon accounts alone.
Holland also asks the question: Is Hitler our leader now?
Trump’s first wife, Ivana, during their divorce, told her lawyer that her husband kept a book of Hitler’s speeches in a bookcase by his bed, and occasionally, he would read them.
You be the judge.
