Meridian Community College has hired former East Mississippi Community College President Thomas Huebner, MCC Board of Trustees Chairman Alex Weddington confirmed Wednesday. He will assume his new role on July 1.
Huebner, who served as president at EMCC from July 2015 until May 8, when he resigned. On May 29, Huebner interviewed for the MCC job, the last of five candidates to interview for the position. Among the other candidates for the MCC president job was EMCC Vice President Paul Miller.
The EMCC Board of Trustees are currently conducting a search for a new president after hiring Rick Young as interim president. Young had served 11 years as the EMCC president before retiring in 2015. Huebner came to EMCC Shelton State Community College in Alabama.
