A woman has been arrested for the third time this year for allegedly attacking her husband.
Charity Jasandra Harkins, 28, of 95 Suggs Road, has been charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault. Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested her Saturday afternoon, hours after she allegedly stabbed her husband in both shoulders.
Deputies received a call from a home off Highway 69 South at about 11 a.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic disturbance, according to LCSO Capt. Greg Wright. When deputies arrived at the scene, the victim reported Harkins had broken into his house and attacked him while he was lying in bed, stabbing him once in each shoulder and hitting him on the head with a hand saw.
Wright said the victim, who was covered in blood, was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Harkins was no longer allowed on the property at the time she allegedly attacked the victim, Wright said. Deputies later arrested her off Sobley Road.
Harkins was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her husband in the stomach in February. She was released on $50,000 bond and arrested again in May for domestic violence aggravated assault, again for allegedly attacking her husband.
Harkins’ bond for Saturday’s bond has been denied. She is currently in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
