East Mississippi Community College sophomore Blair Madison of Columbus has been named a 2018 Dowell Leadership Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to the top-scoring Phi Theta Kappa member from Mississippi based on information and essays provided. Recipients must also be enrolled in an associate degree program and have applied for the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship.
Madison will graduate next May with an associate’s degree in computer science. She intends to pursue a bachelor’s degree, and possibly a master’s degree, in computer science at Mississippi State University.
She is a graduate of Heritage Academy and is the daughter of Heather and Stacy Madison.
