Tickets to an event that typically fills Trotter Convention Center each spring will become available to the public Thursday. Patron tickets to the 69th annual Junior Auxiliary of Columbus Charity Ball will be sold from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 21 at the JA Hut at 1000 Park Circle, adjacent to Lee Park.
The March 30 ball begins at 7 p.m. Highlights will include presentation of this year’s Charity Ball king and queen at 8 p.m., introduction of the royal court, a performance by New Hope High School’s Showstoppers, plus live entertainment by Soulstation Band. Tickets will also be available Thursday for the Royalty Breakfast, which begins at 9:30 p.m. March 30.
“This event is extremely important, as it is our main fundraiser that funds all of our projects that allow us to reach the children in Lowndes County,” said Charity Ball Chair Alicia Truesdale.
Ticket Chair Mary Tana Garner said, “Patrons who purchase tickets at the JA Hut will be able to select their tables.” Full tables seat 12 guests. After Thursday, ballroom table seating purchased by mail will be chosen by the ticket chair.
“Balcony and breakfast tickets will be available beginning Feb. 26 at Military Hardware for those who don’t get them Thursday,” Garner noted.
Ballroom tickets are $45 per person. Balcony tickets are $25; breakfast tickets are $25. Military Hardware is located at 1002 13th St. N., Columbus.
The support JA provides the community is “done with heart and soul from each and every member of our organization,” said Truesdale. “This year we are looking through a child’s imagination — the pure hope that every child feels as they look to their future in who they will and want to become. As Walt Disney put it so eloquently, ‘Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.’ This is what Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is here to provide for each and every child.”
