Mother Nature has delayed the start of the 2019 local auto racing season.
The Winter Classic scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Columbus Motor Speedway has been canceled due to rain. It has been rescheduled for March 8 and 9.
Super Late Models, Outlaw Street, Durrence Lane Sportsman, Durrence Lane Street Stock, Factory Stock, KMSA Mini Stock, Hot Shot Buzz and Dove Young Guns will compete.
· In related news, Magnolia Motor Speedway welcomes new class sponsors for this season, which will begin March 2 with the Frostbuster 150.
Glenn’s BBQ and Fish is now the title sponsor for the Late Model Sportsman class, while Ranch House Diner is the title sponsor for the Factory Stock division. Three Star Tire and Auto is the new title sponsor for the Street Stock class.
“All three of these companies are locally-owned businesses, and it’s really cool to see them stepping up to support Magnolia Motor Speedway in a major way,” promoter Johnny Stokes said. “We are really excited for this season and having new marketing partners come on board makes it even more exciting.”
