Starkville police have arrested two men and are seeking a third in connection with a shooting at the Chandler Park Apartments.
According to an SPD press release, police are investigating a shooting incident reported Wednesday evening at the apartments on Reed Road.
Few details of the incident are currently available, but SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said no injuries were reported from the shooting.
Police have arrested Demarcus Sligh, 23, and Quantavious Lawrence, 26, both of Starkville, for four counts each of attempted aggravated assault. They’re being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail on $200,000 bond each.
SPD is searching for Dionte Doss, 30, of Starkville. The department has issued four attempted aggravated assault warrants for his arrest.
According to affidavits read in Starkville municipal court on Thursday morning, Lawrence is accused of shooting at Doss and Sligh with a handgun. Sligh is accused of shooting at Lawrence, a juvenille and two other victims with a handgun. It’s unclear from the affidavit how the altercation started and whether the additional victims were intentionally targeted or bystanders.
SPD asks anyone with information on the incident to contact the department at 662-323-4131, or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
