Both East Mississippi Community College basketball teams were lighting it up at home Monday night.
The women defeated Snead State 72-53, while the men took down Royal Ambassadors Prep 105-60.
For the women, Ja’Mia Hollings had 15 points and nine rebounds, while Tye Metcalf scored 15 points and dished out four assists. Topazia Hawkins also contributed 15 points, while Taylor Lattimore had 10.
On the men’s side, six Lions were in double figures: Rico Gipson (18 points), Jakorie Smith (15), Romeo Sanders (11), Donte Powers (10), Quamontae Monfort (10) and Kon Ajang (10 points, 10 rebounds).
Both teams are back in action at East Central Community College Thursday, with the women starting at 5:30 p.m. and the men tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
