PELAHATCHIE — The Heritage Academy softball team lost Tuesday’s road game 12-6 at East Rankin Academy in Pelahatchie.
McKenzie Rhett pitched a complete game for the Patriots (1-2), and Carley Martin had multiple key hits to get the team’s offense going.
Eighth grader Jeoreia Henry, who stood out in Heritage Academy’s first two games, was injured in the bottom of the fourth inning and had to leave Tuesday’s contest.
Head coach Heidi Matthews said that the Pats’ coaches “couldn’t be more proud of (their players) and the way they played.”
Heritage Academy will travel to De Kalb on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. contest at Kemper Academy.
