STEENS — Immanuel Christian posted all victories on the boys side of the opening round of the ICCE Christmas Tournament Tuesday.
The Rams raced past Tupelo Christian Academy and Kosciusko, while the junior high Rams beat the Scott Flames.
The Lady Rams were not as fortunate, falling to Hebron Christian in overtime, while also falling to East Webster.
The three-day event resumes today and Thursday. The host squads will play four of the eight games on today’s schedule.
- Boys: ICCE 67, Kosciusko No. 1 36: The Rams built a 24-point halftime lead and cruised to victory in the tournament nightcap.
For ICCE, Jason Davis had 21 points and seven rebounds, while Ross Moore had 12 points and five rebounds.
- Girls: Hebron Christian 46, ICCE 45, OT: This contest was tight throughout as Hebron erased a one-point halftime deficit to post the victory.
Tori Nichols led Hebron Christian with 19 points, 15 rebounds and five steals. Alaina Hill added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
ICCE received 12 points and 11 rebounds from Taylor Baudoin, while Meghan Cooper added 10 points.
- Boys: Hebron Christian 49, Kosciusko No. 2 44: The Eagles carried a 10-point lead into the final quarter and held on for the victory.
For Hebron Christian, Will-Corben Rogers scored 21 points, with five rebounds and four steals. Ben Pearson added 14 points and six rebounds.
- Boys: Noxapater 66, North River Christian, Ala. 57: Noxubee blew open a tight game by scoring 22 points in the second quarter. After that, the Tigers led 37-20 at the intermission.
Noxapater received 18 points and seven rebounds from Sharon Sherrod, while Anthony Brown also had 18 points and four rebounds.
- Boys: Southside 67, Old Dominion 56: Southside erased a 10-point halftime deficit in its victory over Old Dominion.
Southside received 17 points and 14 rebounds from Chris Delgard.
Old Dominion was paced by 18 points apiece from Rakeem Booker and Jeremiah Lewellyn.
- Girls: Winona Chr. Academy 42, Noxapater 35: Caitlyn Mitchell was all over the place for Winona as she had 23 points, four rebounds and seven steals.
Noxapater received 13 points, 10 rebounds and three steals from Breanna Glass, as well as 10 points, six rebounds and three steals from Hannah Hamilton.
- Girls: East Webster 57, ICCE 46: East Webster built a 12-point halftime lead and held on to defeat the Lady Rams.
For ICCE, Bailey Edwards had 12 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Taylor Baudoin had 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals.
East Webster received 21 points from Katesa Dear, as well as 15 points and 13 rebounds from Quantesha Patterson.
- Boys: ICCE Jr. High 48, Scott Flames 4: For the Rams, Kyle Foster had 12 points and four rebounds. Brodrick Riley added nine points and two rebounds, while Colby Bailey had eight points and two rebounds.
Peyton Spencer had three points and six rebounds for the Flames.
- Boys: ICCE No. 2 66, Tupelo Christian Academy 60: Jason Davis paced the Rams with 11 points and six rebounds in the victory.
Teammate Darius Jones had eight points, two rebounds and two steals.
For Tupelo, Rodger Casmus had 22 points and six steals, while Austin Slagoe added 21 points and eight rebounds.
