STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football recruiting specialist Rod Gibson was arrested for driving under the influence over the weekend, the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed.
Gibson was arrested at 1:27 a.m. Saturday on Highway 182. He refused a Breathalyzer test, according to Oktibbeha County Justice Court. He was released on $799 bond. It is the first DUI on his record.
An MSU spokesperson said the team is aware of the arrest but offered no further comment.
Gibson was hired in February. He was the running backs coach at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2015. Before that, he served 12 years on the staff at Mississippi Delta C.C. (2003-14).
He was a running back for the Bulldogs from 1998-99.
