IRVING, Texas — Senior defensive lineman Dylan Bradley was one of six Southern Mississippi football players named Wednesday to the Conference USA preseason team.
Bradley joins quarterback Nick Mullens (Offensive Player of the Year), running back Ito Smith, offensive lineman Cameron Tom, linebacker D’Nerius Antoine, and defensive back Picasso Nelson Jr. on the team that was voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.
Bradley, a former standout at Noxubee County High School in Macon, had the most tackles (45) of any Southern Miss defensive lineman last season. He also had 12 1/2 tackles for loss and a team-best six-and-a-half sacks.
Mullens, who is from Hoover, Alabama, set several school records last season for the Golden Eagles as the squad finished 9-5, won the Conference USA West Division crown, and earned its first bowl berth since 2011. En route to being named the 2015 C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, Mullens established school single-season marks for passing yards (4,476), touchdown passes (38), completions (331), passing efficiency (155.16), and total offense (4,384).
