STARKVILLE — Mississippi State safety Brandon Bryant announced on Twitter his intent to transfer from MSU Sunday morning. He had missed all eight of MSU’s spring practices to date to tend to academic concerns, per MSU coach Joe Moorhead.
Bryant ended last season with 32 tackles, one interception and two pass break-ups. If he were able to return to the team before the end of spring, he projected to be a valuable piece in the rotation alongside Mark McLaurin, Johnathan Abram and Brian Cole. Without Bryant in the fold, MSU will likely to turn some combination of Jaquarius Landrews and C.J. Morgan to fill that void, with others such as London Craft, Landon Guidry and Stephen Adegoke.
