MACON — The Central Academy fast-pitch softball team scored two runs in the first inning and three more in the second Tuesday en route to a 6-0 victory against Oak Hill Academy.
Paige Buchanan went the distance in the pitching circle and was the winning pitcher for Central.
The leading hitters for Central Academy were Megan Banks with a double and single, Kendall Taylor with a double, and Blake Rigdon with a single.
Oak Hill”s Maegen Ellis (1-2) allowed two hits, walked four and struck out three to take the loss. She also had a single.
Mamie Allen pitched the final three innings for Oak Hill. She also had a single.
Tori Ellis had a double and Abby Falkner had a single for the Lady Raiders (5-5), who will play host to Hebron Christian at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Central Academy”s next game is Thursday at Winona Christian.
Volleyball
n Caledonia 3, Amory 0: At Caledonia, Elisha Collins had three kills and Ashley Dodson, Sarah Freeman, and Blaire Ruth each had one Tuesday to lead the Lady Confederates (4-1) to their victory.
Caledonia won by scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-9 despite missing 18 serves.
Marlana Dolan had nine assists for Caledonia, which will play Corinth at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
