The Mississippi State volleyball team was swept by South Carolina on Friday at the Newell-Grissom Building in Starkville.
The 3-0 loss dropped the Bulldogs to 13-12 with a 2-11 Southeastern Conference mark. Set scores were 25-21, 26-24 and 25-21.
“Tonight, was a tough one because, defensively, I didn’t feel like we really stuck to our game plan,” Bulldogs coach Julie Darty said in a news release from Mississippi State. “Offensively, we are going to have to be a little more efficient and not send so many errors and free points over to our opponent if we are going to be in these close sets.”
Senior setter Alleah Stamatis recorded a double-double for the Bulldogs with 35 assists and 12 digs, a team high.
“Alleah had a great night,” Darty said. “I thought they were targeting her, picking on her a little bit there in the beginning, and she was bought in and really stuck to it and was digging balls left and right.”
Mississippi State will host 12th-ranked Florida at noon Sunday.
