GRENADA -- The Columbus boys and girls basketball teams both posted wins at Grenada on Thursday night. The Falcons boys won 69-61 behind 20 points from Eric Caldwell, 14 from Tre Dismuke and 10 from Blake Burnett.
Columbus girls 68, Grenada 27
GRENADA -- The Columbus girls beat the Chargers 68-27 thanks to 31 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and four assists from Aniya Saddler. Sercora Tate added 10 points for Columbus.
Starkville Academy girls 29, Choctaw County 28
STARKVILLE -- The Starkville Academy girls team edged Choctaw County 29-28 on Thursday in Starkville.
Meri Laci Archer and Caroline Wood each scored eight points to lead the Volunteers in victory. Starkville Academy hosts East Rankin Academy today.
STARKVILLE -- The Starkville Academy boys team lost to Choctaw County 44-40 in Thursday's home game.
Dre Frazier scored 18 points for the Volunteers.
Columbus Christian Academy boys 91, Calhoun Academy 73
STEENS -- Lawson Studdard led the way with 33 points as the Columbus Christian Academy boys beat Calhoun Academy 91-73 at home Thursday.
For the Rams, Will Teague scored 21 points, and Dakota Shaw scored 13.
CCA will travel to face Kemper Academy today.
Columbus Christian Academy girls 68, Calhoun Academy 11
STEENS -- Kylie Emerson scored 21 points as the CCA girls beat Calhoun Academy 68-11.
Cayden Harding added 12 points, and Audrey Foreman scored 11.
West Lowndes boys 50, Nanih Waiya 42
The West Lowndes boys beat Nanih Waiya 50-42 in Thursday's home game. Jherquaveus Sanders scored 14 points for the Panthers, and Darrell Brooks scored 13 points. Decamby Willis added nine points for West Lowndes.
The Panthers will host French Camp Academy on Tuesday.
