Sophomore Tyler Stevenson led the Southern Miss men’s basketball team with 17 points in a 65-63 loss to Middle Tennessee on Saturday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The New Hope product made six of his 10 shots and hit five of six free throws for the Golden Eagles (6-15, 2-6 Conference USA).
Boban Jacdonmi added 16 points for Southern Miss, and Gabe Watson had 10.
C.J. Jones scored 17 points to lead Middle Tennessee (5-16, 1-7), which picked up its first Conference USA win of the season. Donovan Sims had 10 points for the Blue Raiders, including the winning free throws with 0.7 left on the clock.
Southern Miss will host Old Dominion on Thursday in Hattiesburg.
