SENATOBIA -- The Heritage Academy boys basketball team posted a statement win over Washington School on Wednesday in the first round of the MAIS Class 4A north state tournament at Magnolia Heights in Senatobia.
Four Patriots scored in double figures as Heritage Academy beat Washington 73-17.
Jared Long had 14 points, Trey Naugher had 12, and Steele Altmyer and Mack Howard each had 10.
The Patriots will face Bayou Academy in the semifinals at 7:45 p.m. Friday in Senatobia.
Pillow Academy girls 62, Heritage Academy girls 42
SENATOBIA -- The season ended Wednesday for the Heritage Academy girls with a 62-42 loss to Pillow Academy in the first round of the MAIS Class 4A north state tournament at Magnolia Heights in Senatobia.
For the Patriots, Sydney Adair scored 15 points, Bailey Harris had 13, and Lucy Sharp had nine.
Heritage Academy's season comes to an end with a 12-21 record.
Columbus Christian Academy boys 77, Marvell Academy (Ark.) 49
STEENS -- The Columbus Christian Academy boys beat Marvell Academy (Arkansas) 77-49 on Wednesday in the first round of the MAIS Class 2A north state tournament at Columbus Christian in Steens.
Lawson Studdard paced the Rams with 22 points. Will Teague scored 13, and Jonathan Peal had 12.
Columbus Christian will play Tunica Academy at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy girls 54, West Memphis Academy (Ark.)
STEENS -- The Columbus Christian Academy girls beat West Memphis Academy (Arkansas) 54-29 in the first round of the MAIS Class 2A north state tournament on Wednesday in Steens.
Morgan Whitten had 13 poins to lead CCA. Audrey Foreman scored 12, and CC DeVos had 11.
The Rams will play Marvell Academy (Arkansas) at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
