The Ole Miss baseball team is within one win of tying a school-record winning streak Wednesday, beating Louisiana-Monroe 18-7 in Monroe, Louisiana, for its 16th straight victory.
Tyler Keenan and Hayden Dunhurst each went 4 for 5 with two home runs for the Rebels (16-1), who tied the second-longest win streak in Ole Miss history by beating the Warhawks on Tuesday. Keenan led the team with six runs batted in, while Dunhurst and Kevin Graham each had three.
Starter Jackson Kimbrell allowed just one run in five innings pitched, allowing six hits and striking out four batters.
Ole Miss will host LSU for a three-game series beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, but no fans will be allowed into Oxford-University Stadium. In accordance with a statement released by the SEC on Wednesday, Ole Miss limited attendance for the contest and all athletic events through at least March 30 to student-athletes, coaches, event staff, essential team and conference staff, credentialed media, and immediate family members of the participating student-athletes and coaches.
