Noxubee County (2-0) dropped from second to third in the MHSAA Class 3A rankings in this week's Associated Press Mississippi high school football poll, released Tuesday.

Nine Mississippi media outlets, including The Commercial Dispatch, were polled on the top five teams in each class and the top 10 overall. Teams earned 10 points for a first-place vote, nine for a second-place vote and so on.

The Tigers, who received The Dispatch's first-place vote, beat Philadelphia 33-13 last week but were jumped by Columbia (2-0) for second place in Class 3A. Jefferson Davis County (2-0) remained in first place with six of the eight first-place votes in the class.

Magee (1-0) and West Marion (1-1) rounded out the top five.

Noxubee County will travel to face West Point (1-1) on Friday.
