Prep soccer roundup: New Hope girls hit double digits in win over West Point

WEST POINT -- The New Hope girls routed West Point 11-0 in Tuesday's match in West Point.

 

Chelsea Teague led the Trojans with three goals, and Allie Sanford had two. Bree Younger, Reagan Greenhaw, Brylee Smith, Angel Vaughn Harrison, Conerly Moody and Caleigh Carter all scored for New Hope.

 

New Hope's next match is Thursday at Grenada.

 

 

Prep Boys Soccer

 

Heritage Academy 6, Golden Triangle HomeSchool 0

 

Todd Sharp and Cole Shelton had two goals apiece as the Heritage Academy boys soccer team beat Golden Triangle HomeSchool 6-0 on Tuesday.

 

Blake Ward and Douglas Turner added goals for the Patriots. Sharp and Jared Gruseck combined in goal to post a clean sheet.

 

Heritage Academy's next match is Monday against Delta Streets Academy.

 

Starkville Academy 7, Magnolia Heights 0

 

SENATOBIA -- Starkville Academy scored seven goals in the first half to rout Magnolia Heights 7-0 in Tuesday's road match.

 

Isaac Lepard and Nathan Miller had two goals each for the Volunteers. Andrew Pollan, Wilkes Stubbs and Brody Pierce all scored as well.

 

Starkville Academy's next match is scheduled for Friday at home against Bayou Academy.

 

New Hope 7, West Point 0

 

WEST POINT -- The New Hope boys picked up a 7-0 win Tuesday at West Point.

 

Christian Juarez had a hat trick for the Trojans. Trey Parnell, Miguel Zamora, Jose Castillo and Caden Perrigin all scored as well.

 

West Point archery drops opening match to Houston

 

HOUSTON -- The West Point High School archery team lost its opening match to Houston High School on Tuesday.

 

The Green Wave were outscored by the Hilltoppers 2964 to 2891.

 

West Point's top female archer was Lidia Portera with 256 points. The Green Wave's top male shooter was Emanuel Thompson with 267.

 

West Point is back in action Jan. 26 against Houston in West Point.
