BUENA VISTA — Ara Mae Garner, 98, died Dec. 2, 2015, at Floy Dyer Nursing Home. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation is today from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Mrs. Garner was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Chickasaw County to the late Ruthie Trannie Cox and Thomas C. Morgan. She was previously employed by Meadows Sportswear and Indian Creek Apparel. She was a member of Buena Vista United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Garner; sisters, Maggie Morgan and Esterleene Morgan; and brothers, Floyd Morgan and Louis Morgan. She is survived by her children, LaNelle McMillen of Columbus and Robert Morgan Garner of Buena Vista; sister, Annie Marie Massey of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
