STARKVILLE — A 20-year-old college student was found dead in an apartment complex Friday night, but so far there are few clues as to what caused her death.
Teresa Ann Veal, a junior at Mississippi State University, was found dead at 215 Louisville St., Apt 7, The Dawgs Landing. Upon arrival, officers found Teresa Ann Veal, 20, of 100 Camden Court, Madison, unresponsive and unconscious. Coroner Michael Hunt was called to the scene and declared Veal deceased.
Authorities did not say who made the call to 911.
Starkville Police Chief David Lindley said Friday that Veal was found in her bed, deceased, by her roommate around 1 a.m.
Veal’s aunt, Debbie Veal Hannah, said Monday that Teresa Veal did not live at the complex and was not found unresponsive by her roommate.
“There did not appear to be any signs of foul play, but there were no apparent reasons for her death,” Lindley said.
Veal was a member of an MSU sorority, according to Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt, but he did not know which sorority.
Her body was transported to Jackson for an autopsy, Hunt said. Results of the autopsy are expected Wednesday afternoon, Hunt said.
