Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus, Mississippi for Lt. Colonel Chester Lee “Chet” Meaux, 76, of Collins, Mississippi, who passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Reverend Wayne Woolwine will officiate at the services with interment to follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Collins is in charge of the arrangements. Lt. Colonel Meaux, a Crowley, Louisiana native, retired from the United States Air Force as a transportation officer after twenty-six years of service. He also owned and operated Coastal Resources for thirty years with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dupre Joseph Meaux and Ophelie Laleaux Meaux. Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Kathy Masters Meaux of Collins; three sons, Chad Stevens of Caledonia, Mississippi, David Meaux and his wife, Janet, and Chuck Meaux and his wife, Kim, all of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Beverly Cole and her husband, Max and Colleen Cessna, all of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Elaine Rock of Las Vegas, Nevada and Anna Belle Alpha of Bunkie, Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Larry Andrus of Independence, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
