Cassidy Simmons, Distinguished Young Woman of Lowndes County, will be one of 33 Mississippi high school seniors competing for more than $44,500 in college scholarships when the DYW Program of 2014 begins July 18 in Meridian.
During the week-long program in Meridian, participants are evaluated on scholastic achievement, fitness, self-expression, talent and interview. Simmons has chosen a ballet variation of "La Esmeralda" for her talent.
