Thomas Cass Johnson, 27, of Maben, was killed and three others were injured after a three-car wreck occurred about 10 a.m. Monday on Hwy. 15 North in Webster County.
Officials pronounced Johnson dead at the scene shortly after the northbound Nissan Maxima he was driving sideswiped a black Ford pickup before hitting a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer head-on, just north of U.S. Hwy. 82.
Johnson’s passenger, 32-year-old Jason Mann, of Maben, was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He is in critical condition, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The Ford’s driver, Terry Morgan, 62, was transported to NMMC Eupora and treated for moderate injuries, while 61-year-old William Nolden was airlifted to Tupelo with serious injuries, according to a MHP release. Both are Maben residents.
The cause of the accident was not released. The incident remains under investigation.
